ABOUT
Colville Church of God is a non-denominational church that was first established in 1949 by believers who shared a vision to reach the Colville area for Christ. The first meetings were held in their homes. Other area churches also shared use of their facilities. Ground was broken for our current building in 1951.
The local congregation is affiliated with a global movement known as Church of God (Anderson, Indiana). This fellowship of churches is devoted to studying the Word of God and faithfully living it out. Fundamental to this process is the Person, the work, and the power of the Holy Spirit. It is the Holy Spirit who transforms, equips, and empowers us to accomplish God’s purposes.
The Church of God movement began in the 1880s in the midst of the broader American Holiness Revival. The pioneers of the movement hoped to restore a more biblical understanding and practice of what it means to be the church. Though there is a great diversity of convictions and practices within the movement, a primary concern has always been Christian unity.
Colville Church of God shares the hope of the original movement to bring restoration to God’s church. In pursuit of Christian unity, we are committed to working with other local churches and denominations as we advance the kingdom of God together. We continue to focus on the mission Jesus Christ gave every believer: to make disciples of all nations (Matt 28:18-20).
